Oregon Duck Rides a Harley

The University of Oregon has its own Harley that the Duck mascot rides out on the back of at every home game.
So Motorcycle USA’s home state of Oregon was buzzing with college football fever last night. It was the annual Civil War game between the Oregon Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers. They’ve been meeting on the gridiron for 113 years, but this was the first time the two teams clashed with an invitation to the Rose Bowl on the line.
It’s pregame, the crowd is hype, the teams are getting ready to be introduced, and the coolest thing happens. The Oregon Duck mascot comes riding out on the back of the team’s Harley Fat Boy. The crowd went ballistic. The rider rolls on the throttle and the tandem parades around the field, the roar of the Harley’s pipes matching the enthusiasm of the crowd. A college football team that has its own
Harley-Davidson. Makes me proud to live in Oregon.
The Oregon Duck’s Fat Boy has a custom-painted tank with Oregon’s ‘O’ logo and the face of a fighting-mad duck on it. The fenders have matching custom Oregon green paint and yellow pinstriping. Aftermarket pipes make it a little more boisterous. If you’ve ever been to a football game at Autzen Stadium, you’d realize the need for loud pipes.
Needless to say, after seeing that, I knew who was going to win the ballgame. Maybe if the Beavers would have come riding in on a Victory they might have had a chance.
