Killing Zombies on Resident Evil Chopper
Friday, December 11, 2009

When zombies inherit the earth, this is the motorcycle I want to be riding on.
Dual 50 magnums in tank-mounted holsters, on-board grenade launchers, knife sheaths on fork legs, zombie spikes like fender struts on the front wheel, and armor plating all around. Sound like the motorcycle you need to fight through five o’clock L.A. traffic? Nope, it’s just the latest version of the Resident Evil Chopper made by Savage Cycles.
Capcom Entertainment enlisted the services of Maryland-based custom motorcycle shop, Savage Cycles, to build a limited production Resident Evil chopper. Capcom, the company behind the popular Resident Evil video game, has been working closely with the Savage Cycles crew to capture the essence of Resident Evil in a two-wheeled, zombie-killing machine. Capcom calls the bike the ‘ultimate fusion of survival horror and outlaw bike.’
The bike is long and low, with a tall, thin tire mounted at the end of a heavy rake. There are points everywhere, from the lightning-bolt shaped downtube to the swingarm. There’s also lots of cool custom metal work, like the armored fender on the front wheel, the louvered headlight housing, the bolt-shaped frame and the angular tank. It will be powered by a big S&S V-Twin engine.
Capcom says the first RE Chopper will be finished in early January. It didn’t say how many will be made or how much each will cost, but be sure to get yours
before the apocalypse starts and the dead start rising from the earth, when prices will definitely go up.
