Stolen Harley Returned to Owner 17 Years Later
Thursday, December 17, 2009
Wanted to spread a little holiday cheer, so figured I'd share this story I just read courtesy of KTLA News.
An L.A. man got an early Christmas present when the California Highway Patrol contacted him and said they had found his stolen motorcycle. Great news, huh? Only the motorcycle had been stolen 17 years prior. Makes you wonder where the bike has been during that timeframe. Best part is, instead of being beaten down and trashed, what started out as a stock
Harley-Davidson now has custom paint and accessories and looks as good today as when it was new.
Warren Huff said that someone stole the motorcycle from his apartment complex in West L.A. on May 12, 1993. That was long before LoJack days, so Huff figured he’d never see the bike again. But recently a man in Valencia brought the motorcycle in for a required inspection and police discovered that it was hot and were able to trace it back to Huff. He still had the original paperwork stating that it was stolen.
Needless to say, Huff is a happy man. Check out the KTLA News video below.
