10th Annual Cincy V-Twin Expo Approaches

Thursday, January 28, 2010
Almost 800 booths filled the floor of the Duke Energy Convention Center.
Can't wait to see what's going to be the must-have item for cruisers and baggers in 2010 at the Cincinnati V-Twin Expo
It’s only one more week before the floor of the Duke Energy Convention Center will be filled with all the latest and greatest in the V-Twin industry. The 10th Annual Easyriders V-Twin Expo is right around the corner and I’m looking forward to meeting up with old friends and making new ones all while checking out the hundreds of vendors and distributors that will have their wares on display.

Glancing at the exhibitor list, it seems like the smaller, custom production houses are some of the hardest hit. I don’t see Sucker Punch Sallys, Big Dog, or Big Bear Choppers scheduled to attend after having a big presence at the show the last couple of years. Others like Arlen Ness Enterprises and Baker Drivetrain are earning their merit badges by setting up for their tenth consecutive year at the show. There’s also plenty of first time exhibitors like Biltwell Inc., BUB Enterprises, and Cutting Edge Illusions to balance things out. We actually plan on meeting up with CE Illusions Nick Maly to talk about painting our Honda Fury project bike. So far there’s over 320 vendors scheduled to appear, including the crew of the Limpnickie Lot, so there will be plenty to see and do.

Besides checking out all the coolest gadgets and gizmos the V-Twin industry has to offer for 2010, Cincy is a great place to sit in on some great seminars. I’m looking forward to checking out one called “Eternal Combustion: Opportunity in the Wind.” A celebrated panel of custom bike builders including Brian Klock, Dave Perewitz, Roland Sands and Paul Yaffe will be talking about how they have managed to capitalize on their passion within the current climate and how they have successfully turned difficulty into opportunity.

So look for a full report and video coming soon on Motorcycle USA. Time to go get me some chili spaghetti from Skyline. Of course, this means that while everybody else is watching the Super Bowl, I’ll be stuck in the cramped seat of a Delta airplane. But Cincy is good times. And I’ve got TiVo.
