BUB First to Get Catalytic Pipes CARB-Approved

BUB Enterprises, makers of aftermarket exhausts like the BUB 7 Stealth Mufflers above, is the first company whose catalytic converter-equipped exhaust for cruiser motorcycles received CARB approval.
A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of talking to
Denis Manning, the designer/builder of the ‘World’s Fastest Motorcycle,’ BUB 7. Besides making the fastest two-wheeler around, Manning’s company, BUB Enterprises, also makes one mean motorcycle exhaust for Harley and Metric cruisers.
With Manning’s engineering prowess at its foundation, it should be no surprise that BUB Enterprises is the first company to get its aftermarket catalytic converter-equipped exhaust approved by the California Air Resource Board (CARB). BUB is the happy beneficiary of CARB Executive Order k-002 that allows the sale in California of its catalytic converter-equipped exhaust for
Harley-Davidson motorcycles. This is no small feat, making BUB the first company to meet the demands of an executive order process for motorcycle emission components in California that was approved in 2009.
So motorcyclists in the Golden State can now legally swap out their OEM pipes for a set of BUB’s True Duals, TDX headers or BUB catalyst equipped mufflers. BUB claims the new systems make the same performance as the BUB 7 Stealth systems with 50-state EPA sound compliance. Comes with a five-year warranty for qualified motorcycles. Knowing BUB’s racing background, you can anticipate that even though the pipes meet CARB specs, they will still add a little get-up-and-go, too.
