Bennett's Performance can hop up a Harley with the best of them. The California-based company just reached a milestone - ten years in the biz. Congrats, Bennett's.
After 10-years in business Bennett’s Performance marches into the new decade with a renewed sense of purpose. What began in 2000 as a small repair shop has turned into one of the top Harley-Davidson performance shops in the country. Founded by Bob and Eric Bennett the shop quickly gained local notoriety by beating all comers competing in various dyno shootouts. Taking what they learned on the dyno the pair focused their efforts on giving their growing customer base strong and reliable engines. Beginning in 2001 Bennett’s Performance was put in the national spotlight by being the shop of choice for many magazine articles. The past few years has seen them in numerous publications and websites as they ply their craft and add their expertise for various articles, these include; American Rider, American Iron, Baggers, Cycle Source, Hot Bike, IronWorks, Quick Throttle, Street Chopper, Bikernet.com. and the TV shows Biker Build Off and American Thunder.

Bennett’s Performance has collaborated with many top-notch custom builders including Roland Sands, Gard Hollinger, Todd Sillicato, and Jesse Rooke, with engines that are second to none. As the company has grown Bennett’s has forged strong ties with many industry heavyweights such as Branch-OKeefe (formerly Branch Flowmetrics), Primo Rivera, S&S Cycle, and Daytona Twin Tec.

Bob and Eric competed in the S&S 50th anniversary bike build competition and won their class, building a stellar Bonneville Salt Flat Racer as a tribute to S&S’ storied past and countless LSR records. Creation of this race bike was no coincidence, it was built on experience the pair gained on the salt flats with their multiple record-holding 100-inch Sportster, top speed 192.221 mph.

At the start of January 2010 Bob and Eric have parted ways, leaving Eric as the sole owner of the business.

“The past ten years have been phenomenal, when I opened the shop back in 2000, I could have never imagined things working out as well as they have. My dad was here soon after I opened the doors and has been a motivating factor since then. Over the years we have had the opportunity to meet with, and collaborate with so many fine people at events, trade shows, and of course on the salt. All of these experiences have added greatly to our business, reminding me just how important that personal touch is. With that, I want to thank all of the customers who have trusted us with their motorcycles over the years, without them we would have nothing. As the shop moves into its second decade I’m very excited about the future. I look forward to expanding the shop’s online presence, as we continues to help our current and future customers with their needs.”

Bennett’s Performance looks to expand its web presence by creating new opportunities through the use of Facebook and My Space along with other cyber tools. In the very near future, you will be able to bid on some hard to find, and one-off performance components being offered on eBay.

Hours of operation are Tuesday through Friday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Although the shop will not be open for business on Mondays, there’s a good chance you can catch Eric there by phone. Eric is also proud to announce that technician Joel Renner will continue wrenching at the shop as he has for the past three years.
