Buckcherry at the Buffalo Chip 2010
Motley Crue to rock the Buffalo Chip.
Scorpions will play the Buffalo Chip for Sturgis 2010.
Buckcherry, Motley Crue, the Scorpions - the list of big-name musical acts that will be playing at Sturgis 2010 is insane.
All right, everybody knows that Sturgis is the granddaddy of all motorcycle rallies. The riding is epic , from Spearfish Canyon to Mt. Rushmore to the Crazy Horse Memorial. The party action from Main Street to Lazelle is off-the-hook. It’s got the best custom bike show around, the AMD World Championships. The list of ‘Best Of’s’ goes on and on. But the line-up of musical acts scheduled to perform this year gives it a claim to the title of the musical festival of the summer, too.

If you don’t believe me, check this out. The Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground’s lineup includes Lee Rocker, Drowning Pool, Tesla, The Guess Who, Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Buckcherry, ZZ Top, Orianthi, Kid Rock, Bob Dylan (yes, the Bob Dylan) Stone Sour, Motley Crue, Jason Aldean, Ozzy Osbourne, Disturbed, Scorpions and the Doobie Brothers. And I didn’t even mention them all.

The Rock N’ Rev Festival will also be taking place in Sturgis at the Glencoe Camp Resort. It’s lineup is equally nuts – Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack, Three Days Grace, Hellyeah, Wolfmother, Cage the Elephant, 3 Doors Down, Creed, Theft, Sweet Cyanide, Charm City Devils, Rev Theory, Eagles of Death Metal, The Darling Stilettos, Pop Evil, Skillet and Swayback.

Then there’s the Broken Spoke Saloon, who’s got a list of classic rockers like .38 Special, Great White, Dokken, Eddie Money, Black Stone Cherry, ant the Kentucky Headhunters scheduled to perform. And don’t forget Michael Ballard’s Full Throttle Saloon, which will be hosting Blandini, Brother Clyde featuring Billy Ray Cyrus (yes, the Achey Breakey Heart boy himself), The Marshall Tucker Band, Jackyl, and Ice T (should have booked his hardcore/thrash band, Body Count). But you get the idea. So many bands, so little time.

Hope nobody falls of the stage this year and has to be ambulanced out, ala Aerosmith last year. Only 42 days until Sturgis Rally 2010. The countdown has begun.
