T-Minus - Countdown to Daytona Bike Week 2009
Friday, February 27, 2009

Wave your hands in the air like you just don't care - it's Bike Week, baby!!
Two more days - that's how long I have left before I leave for Daytona Beach. I land Monday morning and will hit the ground running. At least until I pick up the 2009 Road Glide that Harley-Davidson has waiting for me. Gotta give my buddy Paul James a shout-out for getting me hooked up. With its easy handling nature, thanks in part to the new chassis of the
Harley touring motorcycles, and hard bags for my camera and video equipment, the Road Glide will suit me perfectly while I'm there.
Monday night I plan on attending the H-D Press Conference and Dinner, and will follow that up with the peeps from Triumph Motorcycles on Tuesday. They will have a
2010 Triumph Thunderbird on hand, so I'm excited to get an up-close inspection of the new cruiser motorcycle from the British marque. After that, I look forward to hookin' up with my buddy CJ Hanlon from
Guilty Customs and hangin' with the
Limpnickie Lot crew. They've got a big party at the Dog House on Tuesday that I know will be the rage.
Of course, there will be a trip to Destination Daytona and the Broken Spoke Saloon mixed in somewhere in between. And it wouldn't be Daytona without some cole slaw wrestling, so I'm headed to the Cabbage Patch with my video recorder to catch some of the action. I'll be carrying the camera everywhere I go, so tune in all next week for daily updates from me, my partner in crime, the affable Adam 'I feel the need for speed' Waheed and GNCC coverage from our resident dirt devil, JC Hilderbrand. We'll be killing it with blogs, reports, and vids from the scene, so Climb On with Motorcycle USA for the best of Bike Week.
