Help Black Hills Kids – Build a Schwinn at Sturgis
Friday, July 23, 2010
Heard about a great opportunity to help the Black Hills Children’s Home during the 2010 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
. Apparently Schwinn has donated 60 new bicycles and helmets to the Kids & Chrome Foundation to benefit the Black Hills Children Home Society. The bikes have been donated to help kids out who have had it tough and will benefit “each child in residence at the foster home for battered and abused children.”
Bad part is, these bicycles are still sitting in boxes at the Buffalo Chip warehouse. So Schwinn and the Legendary Buffalo Chip are teaming up to co-sponsor the “2010 Biker Buddy Build-Off” on Sunday, August 8 at between 3 and 5 p.m. to get these bikes put together. They’re looking for volunteers to stop by that Sunday and spend an hour or two to assemble these bikes for the kids. If you’re going to be in Sturgis for the rally and feel it in your heart to help out, visit http://www.buffalochip.com/EVENTS/SpecialEvents/SchwinnBikerBuddy.aspx
to sign up today.
Bikers are a generous lot, especially when it comes to kids, so I’m sure we can band together and get these bicycles up and running in no time. For your help, you’ll receive a commemorative ‘Biker Buddy’ t-shirt from Schwinn and an invite to a special VIP reception at the Chip’s Event Center where the bikes will be on display. You might just be on TV, too, because I’ve heard that the filming crew from Jay Leno’s Tonight Show
will be shooting throughout the campground during the rally and might just pop on by the bicycle building event.
