Turn Your Harley Tourer into a Phatillac

Old Skool Cycle Werks Phatillac bolt-on conversion kit.

Old Skool Cycle Werks bolt-on conversion kit called the Phatillac transforms the standard Harley tourer into a cruiser with classic car good looks.
Looking for a way to trick-out your ride with a pimpin’ new look? Our friends at Old Skool Cycle Werks recently shared pictures with us of its latest bolt-on bagger kit, the Phatillac. Henry Chriss makes some cool rear-end conversion kits that turn standard Harleys into customized cruisers with classic car lines. His latest creation, the Phatillac, fits Harley-Davidson Touring bikes from 1995-2007. It’s a three-piece kit consisting of one hand-laid fiberglass fender with integrated bags and two side panels. The bags each have a claimed 2 cubic-feet of storage space.

It’s easy enough to guess what classic American car Henry was thinking about when he created his latest design. The Phatillac features a wide, stretched fender sandwiched in between two tall, thin “fenders” with distinct Cadi-like lines. The unit has cut-outs for the exhaust and a recess for a license plate but otherwise tidily conceals everything from the seat-back. Two thin vertical taillight strips complement the classic car look.

If the Phatillac is like all of Old Skool Cycle Werks other kits, it’s a do-it-yourself operation. No frame modifications are required. You can also use your stock seat.

According to Michelle Yalkin, Old Skool’s VP of Sales and Marketing, they’ve entered five local shows recently and won “Best of Show” in all.

“Tampa Harley-Davidson is putting the Phatillac on a bike in their showroom. Radical Randy (popular motorcycle event emcee and voice of the Rat’s Hole) will have the first production piece for Biketoberfest this year,” Yalkin continued.

M. McKoy -Hold on now..... December 20, 2010 09:23 AM
I have seen these bikes, rode with the owners and I can tell you they lean quite well into turns. If you are an aggressive rider (likes to lean hard, ride like you are riding a crotch rocket) you have to judge your angles. But...the builder put a lot into it and I like it. IMO
Dale M -Wait a minute! October 4, 2010 07:49 PM
Harley's and Harley riders don't lean! (They think it's falling over) The next time you see a Harley rider, ask him a few questions; a.) about his bike; b.) about the H-D Motor Company, specifically their financial debacle in '84, and the fact that Soichiro Honda opened the doors of his engineering department, and the drawers to his cash box stating that "competition improves the breed"....and they refused, sacking us with a tariff for motorcycles over 750cc ; c.) rider tips are always fun! They think you steer with your weight! Thins out the herd ;), and d)....is for dildo because you must be one to own a Harley! For all you Jay Leno fans, in '84 on "The Tonight Show", Jay wheeled out an '84 Electra-Glide on the stage, and stated that "the Harley was 100% American!".....with the exception of the Showa forks, Nippondenso alternator/electrics, and the Keihin carb. I guess Soichiro and his company weren't that bad after all! How can you not trust a man that likes geisha girls! ;0
Racer1 -True dg, but October 2, 2010 09:16 AM
That's just looking at the negative side - the plus side is that you no longer need to use your side stand!
dg -lean? October 2, 2010 07:38 AM
Did anybody consider that a bike has to lean to turn?
Fred -ugly October 1, 2010 06:27 AM
That looks horrible and It cost's over 3k
Dennis T -And just like that... September 30, 2010 01:56 PM
UGLY was redefined!
