Harley-Davidson Tri Glide
The Harley-Davidson Tri Glide is a production three-wheel motorcycle that shares the classic styling traits of Harley’s popular luxury touring motorcycle, the Electra Glide Ultra Classic. The Tri Glide has the same easily recognizable front fairing, front fender, and instrumentation. Its engine is almost 100cc larger than the Electra Glides Twin Cam 96, sourcing a rubber-mounted, Twin Cam 103 V-Twin Engine with H-D’s Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection for its power.
The 2009 Tri Glide gives riders who might be intimidated by a big bike a chance to confidently grab the handlebars and go.
The 2009 Harley-Davidson Tri Glide retains the 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission used on

Touring motorcycles, but adds an optional electric reverse ($1,195) integrated with the rear differential assembly that is engaged with a handlebar-mounted reverse module. The Tri Glide has dual front disc brakes and a Hayes Brake dual-disc rear brake system with a lever-actuated, integrated park brake.
The Harley-Davidson three-wheeler sports a molded composite trunk that integrates cleanly into the rear fenders and provides 4.5 cubic-feet of storage space. Teamed with the Tour Pak topcase, the H-D Tri Glide's storage capacity jumps to 6.56 cubic-feet. The rear fenders, topcase and trunk appear to be one piece, but the whole rear end comes off with only six bolts and the fenders are removable to facilitate servicing.
The Tri Glide would be an excellent platform for use by emergency personnel with its ample storage space. For example, The Motor Company’s three-wheeler was chosen to lead the way down Pennsylvania Avenue during Barack Obama’s Inaugural Parade. The Harley-Davidson Tri Glide follows in the footsteps of Harley-Davidson’s Servi-Car, a three-wheeled utility motorcycle that it manufactured from 1932 to 1973. The Servi-Car was popular with small businesses, mobile vendors, and police departments.
