I bought the 2005 base super glide and chromed it out with all the willie G. skull engine covers etc., kurikyan skull pegs, grips and mirror and stage 2 air with screamin eagle exhaust, forward controls, chrome battery and electrics covers and mini apes. I also got a 5 point blade/star harley rim for front and a solid on the rear. Also added a custom diamond cut seat with sissy backrest that has another willie g skull harley logo on the back with a fold down rack...perfect for strapping down my laptop backpack and heading to work. Oh...and 4 of those willie g skull axle nut covers for front and rear. All chromed out...really slick look for this bike. This really is my perfect bike...what customization and bike ownership is all about...building your perfect scooter.
I'm pretty short (5'9") and the forward controls were a bit getting used to, however, I came back with the mid-placed pegs and kept the forward controls and pegs and use the mid placed ones for someplace comfortable for my feet/legs when highway driving etc. and it worked out perfectly.
The handling is excellent. Very nimble bike and plenty of power. Sounds great as well. The left foot shift has a heavy, distinct 'hard', solid feel to it that I like alot.
This is a daily driver and I work construction so it's seen some pretty rough terrain and has held up remarkably. Handles well enough off road and I haven't had any problems.
Really love this bike.
