Kevin Schwantz spun 11 laps on the 2015 Suzuki MotoGP prototype. It is the first time he has ridden a Suzuki GP bike since ’06 when they were limited to 990cc.
Randy de Puniet has been hired as Suzuki’s primary test rider but says he plans on racing in MotoGP next season.

It’s obvious by the level of professionalism and crates of brand new equipment that Suzuki is serious about being competitive in MotoGP next season.
Suzuki’s to-be-named prototype now uses an Inline Four configuration 1000cc engine opposed to the previous generation 65-degree V-Four. This should aid the development of future GSX-R sportbikes.

Although Randy de Puniet is the primary development rider for Suzuki he doesn’t yet have a contract to race with them for 2015. He says he’ll pursue other options if necessary as he fully intends on racing in MotoGP next year.
