Thursday, December 13, 2012

Oakley aims to redefine the standards of motocross optics with an all-new Airbrake MX goggle.
Performance apparel and accessory company, Oakley, aims to bring new standards to the world of motocross eye protection with its new Airbrake MX goggle. Oakley says its latest product is revolutionary and goggle design will “never be the same.” The goggle is expected to set a new standard in motocross optics while integrating new innovative materials.

Many who ride or race off-road have suffered some form of head injury due to impact. Whether it’s getting hit by a rock, or, getting cut by the lens in a crash, the all-new state-of-the-art eye wear is supposed to increase safety in this area. No specifics have been released yet so stay tuned for another report when we get our hands on a set.

MotoUSA reached out to James Stewart's publicist in regards to the new product but he is in "SX boot camp" and was unavailable for comment.

Folks can see Oakley team riders including riders Ryan Villopoto, Ryan Dungey, James Stewart, and more wearing the Oakley Air Brake goggle at Anaheim 1. The goggle will be officially released March 1, 2013.

Yes you are. What you see is the side of the goggles, where the strap connects to the frame. There is no strap on the ones in the picture.

Am I the only one who can't tell what he's looking at from Oakley's extreme close up press photo?
