Suzuki GSXR-600

First introduced in 1992, the Suzuki GSX-R600 was merely a smaller version of the already successful Suzuki GSX-R750. But Suzuki would only make it in ’92 and ’93, dropping the model due to limited success on the sales floor – until reviving it in ’97. While still basically a smaller GSX-R750, it was much more successful as the industry began to adapt to the 600cc size machines. Along the way the GSXR-600 would see three more large updates before taking on its current form, released in 2008.

Bold New Graphics and white wheels highlight the changes for '09. We've got the admit, those white wheels do look good...

The Suzuki GSX-R600 has always followed the same growth and development cycle of the GSX-R750, both getting updates at the same time and traditionally 1 year behind that of the flagship GSX-R1000. Also, recently both the GSX-R600 and GSX-R750 have typically received much of the same technology as the GSX-R1000 as well, albeit a year behind.

The current machine features innovations such as Suzuki’s S-DMS fuel map selector, titanium exhaust, fully-adjustable suspension and top-of-the-line radial brake calipers. Where 600s used to play second fiddle to some of the bigger machines to keep costs down, in recent years they have benefitted from all the bells and whistles as their elder siblings.

As for ’09, the Suzuki GSX-R600 gets an assortment of updated color schemes. Always known as one of the best all-around middleweights on the market, the latest Suzuki GSX-R600 is no different. Equally as good on the street as it is at tearing up the track, there’s good reason Suzuki has enjoyed great success in recent years with its smallest Supersport machine – it really does it all.
