Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa First Look

Pirelli releases its successor to the Pirelli Diablo Corsa III tire. Welcome the all-new the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa street bike motorcycle tire.
Next year, Pirelli will introduce a new high-performance street bike tire named the Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa. The tire is designed as your one single solution regardless if you ride on the streets or the racetrack ala Dunlop’s Q2. The Rosso Corsa will replace the fabulous Pirelli Diablo Corsa III tire (read more about the Rosso Corsa’s predecessor in this Pirelli Diablo Corsa III tire review) and will be marketed alongside the lesser expensive Diablo Rosso. The Rosso Corsa was developed from Pirelli’s experience as the exclusive tire supplier in the World Superbike Championship. It’s designed to outperform its predecessor in every possible performance measurement including: warm-up time, outright grip, and mileage durability. It sports a more slick-like tread pattern yet Pirelli claims it still offers consistent performance on wet road conditions.
The tire will be released in Europe after the first of the year and will then make its way stateside shortly after. Initial sizing will be limited to a 120/70-17 front and a 160/60-17 rear with additional rear tire size options being released in spring.

awesome track tire. been using pirelli dot race tires for years now and w/ this new rosso corsa it felt more like a slick tire. it gave me good feedback and grip of a race tire. after my trackday the tires still have plenty of life unlike diablo/dragon sc2s. i go through 1 DSC rear tire every trackday. lots of improvements. i will buy a set again.

Suits the SV650 which is used as an entry-level racebike hereabouts. No doubt there are heaps of older or sub-hypersports bikes that could use the 160.

Starting in a 160/60 rear? Seems strange to me. 180s are probably the most used here in the states. 190/50 and 55's for the liter bike boys. Why the 160?

I have become a true believer in the Corsa 3's, the most perfect tire I have had the pleasure to spoon onto my bikes these past few years, cant wait to give these new shoes a try.

I moved from Dunlop to Pirelli, and have loved the Diablo Rosso as my road tire, and Supercorsa for the track. The Rossos are as much tire as I'll ever need on the street (I've even done about 3 track days on them) and have proven extremely long-wearing. If they keep the durability, I'm definitely looking forward to these when my current Rossos wear out.
