Ducati Streetfighter

The Ducati Streetfighter is an entirely new high-performance, naked-style motorcycle from the Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati. Released in the US during spring 2009 and labeled a 2010 model, the Ducati Streetfighter is aimed squarely at the Buell 1125CR and KTM 990 Super Duke.

This Ducati Streetfighter is positioned alongside the air-cooled Monster line of Ducati street bikes and is designed to offer a higher level of performance courtesy of its liquid-cooled 1099cc L-Twin engine – the same used in the Ducati 1098 Superbike. In addition to the engine the Ducati Streetfighter shares many other components with the Ducati superbike including Showa suspension components (Ohlins on premium S models), Ducati Traction Control (S model only), boutique Brembo brake system complete with stout monobloc brake calipers. Other similarities included a steel-trellis frame that is nearly identical except for a revised steering head angle to compensate for its longer single-sided aluminum swingarm.

Where this Ducati Streetfighter differs from its World Superbike-racing sibling is in its updated minimalist bodywork, instrumentation and switch gear, thick more upright positioned handlebar and double shotgun style exhaust pipes that exit on the right side of the motorcycle.
