Casey Stoner has had a long career in motorcycle racing, starting at the age of 6 with dirt track racing in Australia. When his racing talent was realized, his family relocated to England to help Casey pursue a professional road racing career. After some consistent top 10 finishes in the 125cc and 250cc MotoGP classes Stoner was offered a ride in 2006 for LCR Honda in the Premier MotoGP class. While his first season was rough and a few accidents earned him the nick name “Crashy Stoner” he managed an eighth-place finish on the year. 2007 would bring him a new team as he moved to Ducati and captured his first win and MotoGP championship. Setting out in 2008 to defend his title Stoner was plagued with early bike issues and a few crashes late in the season sealed the fate of the 2007 champion. Casey Stoner wouldn’t fair much better in 2009 with health issues arising mid season and a final round crash would leave him in fourth overall for the season.
