Suzuki M109
Debuting in 2006, the Suzuki M109R is a member of Suzuki’s ‘M’ or muscle class of Boulevard motorcycles. The M109R is the quintessential power cruiser motorcycle, combining Suzuki’s power and handling characteristics it has refined in its GSX-R sport bikes with sleek cruiser styling. The M109R has been tuned to produce arm-wrenching torque all the way from idle to redline.
Clean lines and a somewhat futuristic look make this new Suzuki M109 cruiser different from the competition.
The Suzuki M109 is easily identifiable by its streamlined, trapezoidal-shaped headlight cover, swooping bodywork, a thick, inverted front fork and a 240mm wide rear tire. Though the M109 is considered a cruiser motorcycle, the M109R is full of top-shelf technology, like Suzuki’s Dual Throttle Valve (SDTV) injection system and Suzuki’s race-proven Composite Electrochemical Material (SCEM) that lines the cylinder heads.
At the heart of the M109 power cruiser is a liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 54-degree V-Twin. A five-speed transmission passes power to a shaft final drive. The M109R has a two-stage cam drive that creates a compact cylinder head and short engine height which allows for a low center of gravity. The 1783cc engine sits in a high-tensile, double-cradle steel frame.
Besides the M109R, Suzuki’s power cruiser is offered in two other variations, the leaner M109R2 and a M109R Limited Edition that adds a sporty racing stripe, custom gauges, a custom taillight, and a uniquely styled seat.
