"Win-it or bin-it" seems to be the motto for Germany's Max Neukirchner during his World Superbike career.
Max moved up to World Superbike in 2004 and he earned his first career podium in only his second race. It would not be until his 70th attempt that he picked up the first victory at Monza during Race 1 of the 2008 season. It is also the first World Superbike victory by a German rider in series history.
Neukirchner had a topsy-turvy 2006. After not being picked up by his 2005 employer, Klaffi Honda, the German rider took up with the Pedercini Ducati squad before replacing Fabien Foret on the Alstare Engineering bike midseason.
Racing for the Suzuki Germany team in 2007, Neukirchner had a single career podium to his credit, along with a whole lot of crashes. He went a long ways toward finishing more races, however, as Nuke has been a frequent collector of the DNF in the past. In 2008, the German ace joined the factory Alstare Suzuki team for what would be his best finish in World Superbike. Neukirchner continues with the Alstare Suzuki team for 2009.
