Herrin has moved to the Daytona Sportbike class for 2009 sporting the Number 8 Graves Yamaha bike.
Josh Herrin jumped onto the AMA Superbike radar with his surprising third-place Supersport podium at Miller in '06. After that the 16-year-old had some growing pains, but the youngster has Yamaha support and a half season under his belt.
One of the brightest young stars in the AMA paddock, Herrin's name will be one to watch in the years to come. Herrin won the 2004 USGPRU 125 national title at the age of 14. The year prior to that, Herrin raced mini bikes and YSR 50s and was invited to compete in the World Mini GP Festival at the Valencia, Spain circuit, riding a mini GP bike that hit over 100 mph on that track's front straight. Herrin finished the double event with a sixth and thirteenth and as the top-scoring American.
Herrin continues with Graves Yamaha in 2009 racing the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike class.
