Motorcycle-USA interviews Graves Yamaha rider, Josh Herrin, as he prepares to fight for this year’s AMA Daytona Sportbike Championship at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend. Watch the Josh Herrin Daytona Sportbike Interview video
For motorcycle road racer,
Josh Herrin, the fate of this year’s AMA Daytona Sportbike Championship comes down to the final two races this weekend at Alabama’s Barber Motorsports Park. Find out all the details in the
2010 AMA Pro Racing Barber Preview
With one round remaining, the Graves Yamaha rider currently sits in second place - 11 points behind reigning Daytona Sportbike champ, Danny Eslick, and a single point ahead of Martin Cardenas as the trio prepare for a full-tilt battle on the racetrack to decide who wears the crown for ’10.
Herrin says he isn’t nervous, and he shouldn’t be. Although he’s only 20 years old, he's an experienced competitor having been in a similar situation last season when he narrowly missed on winning the title by just five points. Could this be the year that he finally notches his first career AMA national championship?
We recently caught up with him at Northern California’s Thunderhill Raceway during a sales event (
Shift Sales Meeting at Thunderhill Raceway) put on by one of his biggest supporters, Shift Racing. In addition to hanging out all day, he put in a solid number of laps on track aboard his Yamaha YZF-R6 and helped other riders figure out how to properly get around the racetrack.
Between riding stints, Herrin sat down with us and spoke about a number of topics including how his season has gone thus far and whether or not we’re going to see him racing a Yamaha YZF-R1 in the near future. Make sure to check out the video for the full interview.
