Sherco kindly let us borrow one of their 2006 Sherco 4.5i's to test in our 2006 450 Enduro Shootout. Check out how the Sherco 4.5i did in our 2006 450 Enduro Shootout

That’s much better, Hecker.

We picked the perfect day for testing and our cameraman was on hand to capture everything that’s great about enduro riding.

JC spent a lot of time on the Sherco, which was no big deal thanks to the all-day rideability of the Spanish steed.

Ken’s been riding for a long time on a wide variety of bikes, but this was his first time on a Sherco. By the end of our testing he was glad to have notched another on his list of bikes ridden.

Getting Darin to quit messing with the horn was virtually impossible. The street-legal components were as fun as they were useful.

BC is known for his hooligan riding, and while he liked what the Sherco has to offer, he was more apt to fool around on some of the peppier machines.

Practice makes perfect and Darin was happy to keep working on his flat track skills on the multifaceted 4.5i.

The Paioli/Kayaba suspension gobbled up everything in its path without transferring a single jarring impact to the rider. That is, unless you decide to freestyle on it, in which case the soft suspension gets overwhelmed by big hits.

Going fast on the Sherco is easier than it seems. The smoothest power delivery of our test and a super-comfortable suspension/ergonomic combo makes the 4.5i deceptively fast. It won't win any drag races but the Spanish bike can easily keep pace on the trail.

Darin displays his perfect form.

Learning to lift the front wheel when necessary took a little practice with the extra-smooth motor, but we picked it up pretty quickly.

Ken Hutchison: Surprise! The Sherco is an amazing machine that is perfectly suited to woods riding.”

JC gasped and wheezed over the top of this slippery clay hillclimb. Tackling the nasty climb first thing out of the truck and with crappy DOT-approved meats was not a recipe for success.

Better known in Europe and for their trials bikes, Sherco is finding quite a bit of success with their factory team across the pond.

We would’ve liked to put all the bikes on the same tires to have things a little more even. The Sherco and Husaberg suffer on the slippery stuff with their street-legal treads.
