Born: February 15, 1988, in Orlando, FL
Young Davi Millsaps started out hitting the local racing circuits as a hobby, but his uncommon knack for racing brought him to the limelight in the amateur ranks. With his mom by his side for support and encouragement, Millsaps won multiple championships, eventually capturing nine amateur titles and the coveted AMA Horizon Award at the Loretta Lynn’s Amateur Championships.

The move to the pro class wasn’t an easy transition for Millsaps, but he managed a ninth-place finish during the ’04 125cc Eastern Regional Supercross Series and, later that year, an eighth-place result in his first full outdoor season on the new Suzuki RM-Z250. During the 2005 season, Millsaps seemed poised to be a serious contender for the title, but problems plagued him and he eventually finished in eighth.

American Honda saw potential in the youngster and in 2006 Millsaps delivered the East Region Supercross Lites title while aboard the CRF250R. In a rare move later that year, Millsaps hopped onto Honda’s 450 and placed third-overall in the premier class. An accident during the off-season stalled his progress on acclimating to the 450, however. To further dash his hopes, Millsaps began suffering from bouts of dizziness and extreme vertigo, and it was later discovered he had a hole in his inner ear that required surgery.

Yamaha rider Davi Millsaps earned second overall at Freestone thanks to a runner-up finish in the final moto.
In 2011 Davi Millsaps had mixed results after overcoming past ailments and suffering another injury to his knee.
After surgery, a rejuvenated Millsaps returned to the 2008 supercross season and began to carve out a place for himself, taking his first premier-class win in front of his hometown crowd in Atlanta. He continued his winning streak, eventually ending his first full 450 series in fourth. When 2009 rolled around, however, Millsaps struggled for consistency during the opening rounds of Supercross. It wasn’t until Round 6 that DM got his first podium finish and he finished eighth-overall. An injury during the outdoor season meant DM would miss four out of the 12 rounds.

In 2010 aboard the Red Bull Honda team, DM had a top-three finish in Supercross. The 22-year-old then followed his successful SX season with mediocre results in the outdoor series, where his highest finish of third place occurred during the season opener at Hangtown. The following year Millsaps transitioned to the Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX Yamaha Team where he failed to finish on the podium during his SX season. DM then moved outdoors to better results, including second overall at Freestone. Halfway through the season, however, Millsaps suffered a knee injury that ended his ’11 MX campaign prematurely.

For 2012 Millsaps will return with the Muscle Milk/Toyota/JGRMX Team alongside his new teammate, James Stewart.
