An explosion of vibrant Kawasaki green will light up the National Superstock 600 grid in 2010, with the formation of Longshot Bikebits4you.com Kawasaki Racing Team. Under the expert guidance of team manager Harry Corbett, the three-rider outfit will be gunning for top honours as they look to continue Kawasaki’s outstanding form after dominating the 2009 Championship.

Longshot, formed at the close of the 2009 season by Harry, has secured headline sponsorship from the aftermarket motorcycle parts internet retailer, Bikebits4you.com ahead of the new season. Based at Powertech in Fleetwood near Blackpool, the team has elected to run with new Kawasaki ZX-6R machinery, after the marque scored an exemplary triumph at the hands of Jamie Hamilton in the Superstock 600 class in 2009.

Team Manager Harry Corbett is no stranger to the ‘green machine’, after steering Jamie to his memorable title. The championship was the culmination of four years’ hard work for the pair, and Harry is keen to continue the strong relationship with Kawasaki, and the development of the ZX-6R, with a new wave of young, determined, talented riders hungry for success.

While many teams in the British race paddock are beginnning the annual ritual of musical chairs, Longshot Bikebits4you.com Kawasaki can already confirm two of its three rider team for the assault on the championship next season as Brad Anderson and Josh Wainwright. Both riders have already competed of this fiercely competitive series, having raced the return season for the class in 2009. With an impressive debut onboard the Kawasaki at last weekend’s Mallory Park shakedown test, both riders are confident of propelling the new team towards the sharp
end, and strong top ten positions next term.

The relationship between Bikebits4you and Kawasaki began at Silverstone towards the close of last season with owner Grant Ely taking advantage of a single round sponsorship deal on the Gearlink Kawasaki British Supersport machine. The added exposure afforded to Bikebits4you.com through TV and circuit exposure prompted close season talks between the media savvy internet retailer and Longshot’s Harry Corbett ahead of 2010.

The new Longshot Bikebits4you.com Kawasaki ZX-6R will be on display in full racing livery at the International Motorcycle & Scooter Show from 27 November to 6 December 2009 on the HEL Performance stand, before moving on to take pride of place on the Bikebits4you.com stand at the Manchester GMEX Show (9-10 January), and the MCN Motorcycle Show at Excel London (4-7 February).

Harry Corbett, Team Manager: “I am very hapy to be able to take such a strong team with young riders to compete at the highest level. We expect to follow Kawasaki’s championship win last season with some good results for the team and the manufacturer this year.”

Grant Ely, owner Bikebits4you: “Following the first test at Mallory Park this weekend, the riders were over the moon with the 2010 bike, and the team is really pleased to have two exciting and promising riders signed at such an early stage. It shows the riders being happy with the team and the infrastructure behind it. This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of Bikebits4you, by linking with a team entered into one of the most hotly contested domestic championships in the world. We will be working closely with the team throughout the winter months and wish the riders all the best for the
coming season.”
