Honda UK and the HM Plant team have announced its 2010 rider line-up and its continued participation in the British Superbike Championship, Isle of Man TT, and North West 200 road races.
Two-time
British Superbike Champion, Ryuichi Kiyonari, will be joined by Josh Brookes. Both will compete on the
CBR1000RR Fireblade in the British Superbike series. The 2009 British Supersport Champion, Steve Plater, will pilot the Honda in the Superstock class. The Englishman, who won the 2009 Senior TT title, will also compete alongside legendary TT rider John McGuinness in the Isle of Man and NW200 road races.

Steve Plater will be back aboard the Honda HM Plant team for 2010.
Honda is also continuing its support of the Clive Padgett’s Honda team for 2010. Former BSB racer, Glen Richards, will join the battle in both the Superstock and Supersport classes along with John McGuinness joining the fray in Superstock. Joining the hunt for the Supersport title will be other TT rider, Ian Hutchinson. Hutchy will compete beside Richards on the
CBR600RR.
Steve Martindale, General Manager of Honda (UK) Motorcycles, said, “I’m pleased to confirm Honda’s commitment to the British Superbike Championship for 2010 and also the team’s continued relationship with HM Plant. The British Superbike Championship is very strong and the high standard of rider talent and racing can be seen at every round.”
The Honda team has enjoyed success for many years of racing. Kiyonari, who returns after a two-year stint in World Superbike, brought home the BSB title while racing for HM Plant Honda in 2006 and 2007. HM Plant Honda also won the World Superbike crown in 2000 and 2002 with Colin Edwards. It has also racked up wins in British Supersport, North West 200 and the Isle of Man.
HM Plant Chairman, John Jones, said, “We have been delighted with our relationship with Honda and the exposure achieved from the HM Plant Honda team partnership over the last six years and look forward to that continuing with some great and exciting racing in 2010.”
