Pagetts Honda rider Ian Hutchinson claimed victory in the first Relentless Supersport TT at the 2009 Isle of Man TT. The Honda man was joined on the rostrum by fellow
CBR600RR pilots, Hydrex Honda’s Guy Martin in second and Wilson Craig Racing’s Keith Amor. The actual leader for most of the race, Relentless Suzuki’s Bruce Anstey, retired on the final lap due, reportedly out of fuel.

Honda rider Ian Hutchinson took the win in the first Relentless Supersport TT and the 2009 Isle of Man TT.
Guy Martin, still yet to win a TT in his career, jumped out to set the pace on Lap 1 with a record-breaking 125.375-mph lap. Anstey, however, took the lead on the second circuit and would not yield until the final lap. Hutchinson rode steady past Martin on the timesheet, who fought with Amor, presumably for the final podium position.
Relentless Suzuki rider Bruce Anstey, led going into the final lap before the New Zealander pulled off track, handing victory to Hutchinson. Another competitor with mechanical issues was Michael Dunlop, who impressed as the fastest Supersport rider in qualifying but was out of the race early due to a blown motor.
HM Plant Honda riders Steve Plater and John McGuinness (yesterday’s
Superbike TT winner) would finish a respective fourth and fifth, giving
Honda a second top-five sweep at this year’s Isle of Man TT races.
Jimmy Moore was the top-finishing American rider, the sometimes Motorcycle USA test rider riding to a quite respectable 14th with a 120.245 mph average – within four mph of the front-running Hutchison.

Anstey retired seven mile into the race due to the malfunctioning of his oxygen-fuel
sensor; Guy Martin took second on the No. 8 Hydrex Honda; Keith Amor rounded-off
the podium for a Honda sweep of the Supersport TT; Jimmy Moore was the top finishing
American rider in 14th on the No. 20 Yamaha.
