You can bet on the fact that the BUB machine wont stop at 350 with both the BUB and Ack teams mentioning 400 mph as the next great barrier.
The BUB Racing Streamliner Seven, piloted by Chris Carr, broke the motorcycle land speed record yesterday with a pass recorded at a blistering 367.382 mph.
Chris Carr and the BUB Racing team have done it again. Carr piloted the BUB Racing Streamliner Seven to a new motorcycle land speed record of 367.382 mph yesterday on the Bonneville Salt Flats at the Land Speed Shootout promoted by Mike Cook. The record is pending ratification by the FIM, but until then Carr has bragging rights once again as the fastest man on two wheels.

Carr shot over the salt with an average speed of 367 mph on his first pass over the recorded mile, with an astounding 372 mph exit speed. He was able to match the blistering pace on his return run to for his unofficial average of 367.382 mph. In the course of the two runs, he clocked an incredible 380 mph top speed.

The BUB Streamliner Seven is powered by a 3 Liter, turbocharged, 16 valve V4 engine that produces a claimed 500 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque @ 8500 rpm. Even more impressive is the fact that the ‘big bang’ engine has to fit in an 18 in. by 28 in. space.

Carr and the BUB Racing team recapture the title from the Ack Attack Team and Motorcycle USA correspondent Rocky Robinson. Robinson had taken the crown away from Carr last year at the Land Speed Shootout with a speed of 360.913 mph. Robinson and the Ack Attack team didn’t take to the salt during the BUB Speed Trials held earlier this month and whether he will make an attempt to reclaim the title at the Shootout is unknown.

The Land Speed Shootout was created last year and brings together the fastest wheel-driven motorcycles and cars. The invitational event is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) and the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).

I race out at Bonneville myself and it is always exciting to see someone break a top speed record not just a category record. Congrats to the BUB team! GetPaid2Race.com

Marty - it has 4 wheels, and is not even remoitely a motorbike  October 3, 2009 07:56 PM
It was built for one purpose, short bursts of speed in a straight line.
Its pathetic it only does 367 MPH......what a joke.
If it did over 600 MPH I bet be slightly impressed, or if it was a real motorbike and did say 400 MPH.

It looks more like the space shuttle than a bike, but at least the shuttle really is fast.
joe mangle - its a bike  October 3, 2009 05:25 AM
so i presume the people who think because of the retractable skids its not a bike have bike that dont need a side stand and stand up using magic! fools

Most of you armchair critics have no idea what you are talking about.
We have them here in the UK, untill you've done it, understood it, and spent years being involved and doing it, dont comment on somthing you know nothing about.

'Cars' that win land speed records don't look anything like what we drive either. Great accomplishment!
andy - it's a bike...  September 27, 2009 06:34 PM
if the FIM rules it's a bike then let it be so...the skidders are used only to hold it up when it's stationary(like 2 kick stands. it has 2 wheels. it has a full faring. it can crash & burn like a bike. that makes it a bike.
Agreed - not a motorcycle  September 27, 2009 02:07 PM
that thing doesn't even need balancing - it has skids
wtf - Not a bike -- a rocket  September 27, 2009 04:52 AM
Having two wheels is probably the only thing this monstrosity has in common with a bike. I get that aerodynamics are an integral part of the test -- but this no longer resembles a bike. The record title should be for fastest land speed by a petrol engine driven vehicle or something. Not motorcycle.

Thats fast, but I wouldnt call it a motorcycle.
