MotoUSA test pilot Matty Armstrong puts the new '10 Honda CRF250R through its paces. "Best ever" were the first words out of his mouth after riding it!
Hey all. Your friendly neighborhood scribe Steve-O here.
I just hopped off the new '10 Honda CRF250R at Perris Raceway here in sunny SoCal, and while the story will be coming right up this Monday, I was so stoked and blown away by the bike I just had to give you guys a little preview!
From beginner right to pro (see photo of our man Matty Armstrong), the new machine delivers. We all know the old bike was a class-leader, winning countless industry 250F shootouts, but with the addition of fuel injection, an all-new frame, suspension, engine and styling like its big brother the CRF450R, the little CRF has once again progressed the world of 250cc four-strokes to an all-new level.
Every journalist literally had to be peeled off the bike come the end of the day and all were begging to get a long-term unit as soon as possible – which we will have in a couple weeks! Thank you, Honda... And you can bet I’ll be fighting my co-workers tooth-and-nail to ride it as much as possible. In fact, I may just pull rank keep it in my garage at home! (Just don’t tell Road Test Editor Waheed!) It had been quite some time since this road racer has thrown a leg over an MXer and I instantly fell in love once again. Say hello to my new toy. I. Love. This. Bike.
So be sure to keep an eye out for the full review first thing Monday morning. I'm hammering away on it right now…
