Superbike is the World's Series

What did I tell you? World Superbike is where it’s at! Just look at those results. Race-long battles, completely rearranged top-10 in the both races, and plenty of on- and off-track antics. It just doesn’t get much better than that. And the icing on the cake – Homeboy Ben Spies wins race two after a tooth-and-nail battle with seasoned veteran Noryuki Haga, the man most

Spies took the world by storm in his first weekend out.
predicted as the preseason title favorite.
Take that world! We all knew the three-time AMA champ had loads of talent, and now so does the entire WSBK paddock and millions of viewers at home. Not only did the kid qualify on the pole in their new and slightly strange (not sure if I like it yet) qualifying elimination system, he now has a WSBK win to his name after only ONE weekend in the series. Had it not been for getting pushed into the gravel trap by Max Biaggi and Leon Haslem in race one, he could have been up front for that one too. When was the last time a rider took pole and won in his first weekend riding WSBK? I surely can’t recall, and it could be the first time ever? (If you know please chime in below.)
While I still love MotoGP, there’s no doubt if you want racing action, World Superbike is the place to be. Bet those Rizla Suzuki guys are kicking themselves now…
