
The reigning World Endurance Suzuki Racing team's Vincent Phillippe could only muster 6th following a strong performance by Honda France's Matthieu Lagrive.
Factory Honda France's Matthieu Lagrive broke his own lap record with a pole-setting time of 1:37.304 at the Bugatti circuit for tommorrow's 24 Hours of Le Mans, the opening round of the 2009 Qtel FIM Endurance World Championship.
Following Lagrive on the grid will be Sébastien Gimbert, who clocked 1:37.462 for the Yamaha France GMT94 team. Third in Superpole was Honda Michelin Power Research Team lead by Hugo Marchand's lap time of 1:37.468. Next up was the GSR Kawasaki team. Yamaha Austria had the fifth fastest lap time as they struggle to dial-in the final set-up of their new Yamaha R1
Reigning World Endurance Champions Suzuki Endurance Racing Team will start tomorrow's opening round in sixth position finishinging Superpole with Vincent Philippe's best time of 1:38.222 on the SERT GSX-R1000.
The Kawasaki Bolliger Switzerland entry will be in seventh, pushing the top Superstock team LMR into eighth. National Motos ninth and RT Moto Virus Racing Team tenth. The BK Maco Moto Racing team of Jason Pridmore failed to make the top-10 cut for Superpole.
Tomorrow's 24-hour race starts at 3pm local time.
