Former Screamin' Eagle Harley-Davidson rider Kenny Coolbeth, Jr. has signed on with the Zanotti Racing Team for the 2014 AMA Pro Flat Track season.
The “King of Cool” has signed with Zanotti Racing for the 2014 AMA Pro Flat Track season. Three-time AMA Grand National Champion Kenny Coolbeth, Jr., who has been the factory Harley rider since 2006, joins the competitive Zanotti Racing team that won the 2010 and 2011 AMA Pro Flat Track championships with Jake Johnson piloting. Coolbeth, Jr., was recently replaced by 2013 AMA Pro Grand National Champion Brad Baker
as the Screamin’ Eagle Harley-Davidson factory flat track rider, leaving the door open for him to test the waters with a new team. Joining Coolbeth, Jr. at Zanotti Racing is Baker’s former mechanic, Dave Atherton, who will be responsible for building race motors and chief mechanic duties.

The “King of Cool” will compete in GNC Expert Twins competitions aboard the Harley-Davidson XR750 and will contest Singles events on a CRF450 supported by the Chaplin Honda team. The team is actively seeking additional sponsors. Interested parties should contact Shawn McNary at email@example.com
Zanotti Racing has tasted the pinnacle of success in AMA Pro Flat Track racing as Johnson rode to back-to-back championships in 2010 and 2011. But Johnson left the team midway through last season, citing a need for a change. Rider Stevie Bonsey replaced him at the Peoria TT and finished the season for the team. A man largely responsible for Johnson’s success, two-time AMA Pro Flat Track Mechanic of the Year Ted McDermitt, has also left the team after wrenching for Zanotti Racing for the last seven years. Like Johnson, McDermitt says the split was amicable.
