2009 GNCC Numbers Announced

Friday, November 14, 2008
Grand National Cross Country Racing
Racer Productions, producers of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series, has announced the 2009 GNCC National Numbers. GNCC Numbers are earned based on overall finishes in one of the seven divisions of the series, including Youth, Amateur and Professional racing on both motorcycles and ATVs, and the new UTV Side-by-Side Series.

The 2008 GNCC Champions, David Knight (Bike, Red Bull KTM) and Bill Ballance (ATV, Team Yamaha) have earned the GNCC number-one plate in the Afternoon Main Event Bike and ATV divisions. Morning race riders begin their numbers with 201. Women's ATV Champion Traci Cecco (Team Yamaha) will wear number 201 in the ATV Morning Race; 200 C Champion Morgan Moss (Team Off-Camber Yamaha) earned number 201 from the Bike Morning Race. Stewart Baylor (Bike, RidePG.com KTM) and Josh Merritt (ATV, Cobra) earned the Youth Overall number one plates. William Yokley (National Guard Polaris) earned the first-ever number-one plate in the UTV Side-by-Side division.

Amateur riders must compete in at least nine GNCC events to earn a national number, and Youth riders must compete in eight GNCC events to earn a national number. UTV teams must compete in three events to earn a national number.

Riders who did not earn a GNCC National Number for 2008 can reserve a number by contacting GNCC Racing after January 2. Full details on number reservations will be posted on GNCCRacing.com
