With eight rounds of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series complete, Round 9 is, without question, the most anticipated round of the series as MotorcycleUSA.com has posted a $50,000 purse with $10,000 going to first place in both the motorcycle and ATV XC1 classes. There will also be a $5,000 second place and $3,000 third place purse paid to both the motorcycle and ATV XC1 classes. The remainder of the purse will be spread throughout the field up to the 10th place finisher. ATVs race on Saturday June 27 with the motorcycles racing on Sunday June 28.

Snowshoe Resort
The Snowshoe Resort is a full service resort with 5-star restaurants, shopping and entertainment that includes, ski lifts, mountain bike trails, off-road buggie trips, trap shooting and much more.
The MotorcycleUSA.com Snowshoe Can-Am GNCC is unique within the off-road racing world. The Snowshoe Mountain Resort, West Virginia's largest ski facility, provides a variety of trails and terrain to race on, and it also features hotels, condos, restaurants and entertainment right next to the track. Racers can walk from their hotel room to the race starting line in the resort's village, and fans can travel to difficult sections of the course via the ski lift chairs. So far to date, MotorcycleUSA.com has paid out $4,000 to the GNCC holeshot artist of both the motorcycle and ATV XC1 classes. "The Snowshoe GNCC will be a big step for us in showing our support for grass-roots racing," claims Ken Hutchison, Vice President, MotorcycleUSA.com. "These guys are the backbone of our sport. We take a lot of pride in supporting the Can-Am GNCC series and helping contribute to the racers."

Currently, Charlie Mullins leads the GNCC pack with four holeshots in the motorcycle XC1 class. Here is the breakdown of the $250 MotorcycleUSA.com Holeshot Award winners to date:

He is correct, ATT is the only cell service that works there now. They just upgraded the tower and so no analog phones seem to work anymore. If you have a wi fi enabled phone, you should be ok when near the Village area.

No verizon cell service there. AT&T is the only cell phone provider and apparently the Verizon cells will not work. You may want to check on that before heading there. It caught me off guard this past January. Otherwise....it is a blast of a place to visit!
