Motorcycle-Superstore.com-backed rider Maria Forsberg will be fighting for a Women's EnduroX win in Global X Games' first international event in Brazil.
Motorcycle-Superstore.com will enter the global marketplace in a big way Thursday when its team of EnduroCross
riders step to the world stage to help kick off Global X Games' first international event in Brazil.
Riders Maria Forsberg, Kacy Martinez, Bryan Roper, Ryan Sandoval, Gary Sutherlin and Cody Webb will all don their special Motorcycle-Superstore.com
Bell Helmet with dreams of scoring EnduroX gold.
"This is a huge event for all of us," Webb said. "It means a lot, not just for the riders, but for off-road motorcycle racing as well. People from all corners of the world ride off-road races, so to bring them all together and have our sport recognized as part of the Global X Games is a huge leap forward for us."
The men's and women's EnduroX event will be one of the first medal events at the Brazil X Games. ESPN and WatchESPN will carry the racing at 7 p.m. EDT Thursday, which is the first day of the X Games.
"It's going to be an exciting weekend all the way around," Martinez said. "We're going to get to race in this super high-energy atmosphere. I'm pretty sure it's going to be unlike anything we've ever seen or experienced. Then we'll get to be fans ourselves in the days after without the stress of a race on our minds."
Webb said the racing itself is going to be an unusual challenge as well.
"There are a lot more variables at a race like this than at a regular EnduroCross event," Webb said. "For our regular season races, you have been to a lot of these venues in the past, so you have a good idea of how well the dirt is going to hold up as the racing goes on. Here, it's a tropical location and you don't know how everything is going to hold together.
"It's a challenge that I'm excited to face and earning a medal from these X Games would be the ultimate souvenir."
