AMA Arenacross Series
As part of the newly announced Amateur National Arenacross Championships (ANAC) that commence on Sunday, May 9, 2010 in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium, Feld Motor Sports? will showcase the main events of the 65cc (7-11) and 85cc (9-11) classes on Saturday, May 8 before the night program of the Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, finals. The capacity crowd packed into Sam Boyd Stadium will bear witness to the future stars in each highly-competitive class.
For years, the AMA Arenacross Series has showcased the 7-11 year olds of the 65cc class at each race on the schedule. Adding the 65cc and 85cc AMA Arenacross classes to the Monster Energy® Supercross finals in Las Vegas will provide these top amateur racers professional level experience and give the fans a glimpse of tomorrow’s stars. This year the 85cc racers will also enjoy the experience of competing at the culminating Monster Energy® Supercross finals.

“The 65cc and 85cc races during the AMA Arenacross Series season often produce some of best racing of the weekend,” said AMA Arenacross Series Director Jayme Dalsing. “Now that these kids get a chance to race in front of a huge crowd at a supercross race it says a lot about the caliber of the racing and the talent of the competitors. What makes it even more exciting is that for the first time ever, the AMA will recognize the winners of these two races in May as National Champions, awarding the youngsters with a coveted number one plate.”

As the 12-race AMA Arenacross Series season travels throughout the country from January through March, the 65cc and 85cc races across five regions will determine who lines up on the gates in May. The top four riders from each class in each region will stamp their ticket to the showdown in Vegas for a pair of 20-rider main events.

The 2010 AMA Arenacross Series kicks-off in Grand Rapids, Mich., January 8-10 from Van Andel Arena. Tickets are on sale now at the Van Andel Arena box office and www.ticketmaster.com.
