Score International Off-Road Racing
Iconic GRAHAM-Watchmakers, manufacturers of quintessentially English watches made in Switzerland with strong bold lines and sophisticated movements, has become the Official Timekeeper of SCORE International including designing and producing a limited-edition, high-end Chronofighter Oversize SCORE Baja 1000 collector's timepiece that will be one of two unique and special awards to be presented to the overall winners of next month’s 45th annual Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 desert race.

This year’s legendary desert classic, the final event of the five-race 2012 SCORE Desert Series, will be held Nov. 14-17 on a the brutally-rugged 1,121.55-mile Sal Fish signature desert race course. With the rugged course traveling on both sides of the peninsula, the world’s most famous desert race will start in Ensenada, Baja California and finish all the way down the peninsula in La Paz in Baja California Sur.

GRAHAM TIME
An independent watch company with corporate headquarters in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, GRAHAM has manufactured 100 individually numbered and registered SCORE Baja 1000 watches to honor the 45th anniversary of the legendary race in their production facilities in the watchmaking capital of the world.

To celebrate the 45th anniversary GRAHAM has developed a collectible watch: Chronofighter Oversize SCORE Baja 1000. The technical race course is the driving force for the competitors to go beyond the limits of man and machine and it has been a great source of inspiration for GRAHAM engineers.

The Chronofighter Oversize SCORE Baja 1000 timepiece has been re-engineered to fit the extreme race conditions. The start and stop lever on the left of the case, originally designed and used by air crews in the 1940s, is the renown GRAHAM signature. It is made of plain carbon and is produced in a very specific machining process. The lever is a single piece of carbon which provides the watch with more stiffness and enhanced usability. The black ceramic bezel gives the watch its strength and shining personality.

To brave the elements, each watch is also fitted with a calculated telemeter scale. It enables distance measuring thanks to the speed of sound; by starting the chronograph when a visible event occurs and stop it when the sound reaches the observer. As the temperature influences the speed of sound, GRAHAM engineers have based their calculations on 77 degrees Fahrenheit, the average temperature on Earth. The distance in miles can be measured on the dial with a scale rim.

GRAHAM has designed high-tech material and processes have been used to create a collectible timepiece that can withstand the dangerous and rugged environments of the SCORE Baja 1000.
