Barragan: It was a great feeling to win here at home and it is a big honour to be the first Spanish winner of a Spanish MX GP.The first moto was made easier for Barragan after many of the other riders were involved in crashes allowing him to get out front with a good lead and win Moto 1.
After Round 7 of the FIM Motocross championship in Mallory Park Jonathan Barragan stands third in the points standings.
KTM Spain has reported that KTM MX1 factory rider Jonathan Barragan has been injured in a training accident this week. Barragan, who rides for Team Silver Action is one of the top riders in the current MX1 World Championship.

Barragan sustained two cracked ribs and during the course of the operation that followed, doctors also had to remove his spleen. He is now out of intensive care and now faces a period of recovery time. It is not yet know when he will be able to return to racing.

Currently third in the world championship standings, the talented Barragan was a definite title contender for the 2009 season.

The entire KTM international family wishes Jonathan all the best and looks forward to him being "Ready to Race" when he has fully recovered his health and fitness.
