After steering the
KTM 350 SX-F to victory at its first competitive outing in Mantova, today Cairoli won another international off season race in Valence, France. The Italian was on top of the MX1 class while his friend Roczen of Germany took victory in the MX2 class.

“It was good training, also for the starts and quite different conditions than Mantova. I wanted to test the bike in hard competition and hard surface,” said race winner Antonio Cairoli.
The Valence International race was attended by several Grand Prix riders looking for bike time before the
FIM Motocross World Championship season kicks off in Sevlievo, Bulgaria, on the April 4 weekend.
Being run with a particular format, this classic yearly meeting foresees two heats per class, plus a final third heat mixing the best MX1 and MX2 riders. The eventual classification of each class combines the results of the three heats.
After a difficult first heat, Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Cairoli made up for an initial fifth place by winning the remaining two moto’s, wrapping up the overall and again showing an impressive potential. Being the defending MX1 World Champion this year, Cairoli is demonstrating he will remain the man to beat despite a change of manufacturer and team compared to 2009.
In the MX2 class Teka Suzuki Europe World MX2’s Roczen started off with a third place in heat one then won the second MX2 heat. In the Super-final he took an eventual 10th to overtake 2009 MX2 World Champion Musquin in the overall MX2 classification.
The Frenchman was second overall in the MX2 class ahead of countryman Frossard. Paulin and Teillet completed the MX2 overall.
In MX1 instead Philippaerts took second ahead of Ramon,
