Blizzard Wins Dominican Republic Supercross

Tuesday, December 02, 2008
Ryan Blizzard won the first round of The Grand Prix of Kendall Supercross Series, this past weekend in the city Santiago, of The Dominican Republic.

Blizzard, of Gansevoort, NY was invited by Kendall Oils to compete in the series aboard a Kawasaki KX 450. The series consists of three rounds, with each round having two motos. The lowest combined score from both motos wins the overall event.

In the first moto Blizzard started fifth and was able to quickly leave behind his competition, as he moved himself into first place. Blizzard controlled the pace and was able to capture the moto win.

The second moto saw Blizzard get a better start as he entered the first corner in third place. Blizzard was able to make a pass to take over second place, where he rode conservative to ensure the overall victory.

"The track was very slippery and you really had to be careful in the deep clay," said Blizzard. "The track had a lot of normal Supercross obstacles, but it had Arenacross corners which allowed the racing to get rough."

Blizzard will compete in the second round of The Grand Prix of Kendall Supercross, which takes place next Sunday on the runway of El Mango, Moca. After the event Blizzard will be returning to the US, to prepare to the upcoming AMA Arenacross Series.

"It has been great training in the Dominican Republic," added Blizzard. "I feel this experience will really help my confidence going into the Arenacross Series."
