We scaled more obstacles than this dirt pile to find the best off-road 450 on the market. We banged up six of the top brands to find out what's what in the enduro world.

With sound restrictions becoming more and more stringent, it’s important for manufacturers to offer ear-friendly machines. None of the bikes we tested had aftermarket exhausts.

Rather than lie in the dirt to inspect the skidplates, we figured this was a bit easier.

A few mid-ride tweaks were required after subjecting our test bikes to the rocky torture of Corral Canyon.

After our Oregon testing was complete, we knew the two Japanese bikes would be front runners for the title. That being the case, we decided to put them up against the KTM so that we could provide the most vigorous test possible in Southern California.
