This Purrfect Angelz performer was the cat's meow.
Traipsing by the Edgewater Hotel and Casino, the sound of Led Zeppelin's scorching chords through big amps drew me in magnetically to its outdoor stage. A large group was watching a girl energetically jumping around the stage, much to the crowd's delight.
From a distance, I thought it was just some drunk chick trying to get her fifteen minutes of fame, or at least a starring role in a funny video on YouTube. But I quickly realized her moves were way too choreographed to be coincidental. She was soon joined on stage by another whirling dervish of a dancer, hair whipping in the wind, as the duo bounced to the rhythmic beats of Page and Plant. It was then that I realized I had caught the middle of the Purrfect Angelz performance.
These girls are pure energy. They burn more calories onstage in an hour than most people do all day. Given that five girls are doing four performances a day, there's no wonder they all have the bodies of world-class athletes. Combining the athleticism of a gymnast with the grace of a classical dancer, the Purrfect Angelz put on a professional performance that elicited rousing applause from the men and women in attendance.
The Angelz are a busy group. I saw them last month at Daytona entertaining the crowds on the Harley-Davidson stage. But they do a whole lot more than biker rallies. They've recently traveled overseas to entertain the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. They've also gotten more than their share of airtime on TV as well, making appearances in music videos by Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, and Toby Keith. The Purrfect Angelz have also been on Jeff Foxworthy's new show, Foxworthy's Big Night Out
as well as The Man Show
and Saturday Night Live
The Purrfect Angelz are a high-energy dance troupe that has been featured in numerous videos and have done a long list of TV appearances.
When asked, one of the performers said that there are 46 girls in all. They travel all over the world performing at trade shows, biker rallies, sporting events, and charitable functions. Their shows are professional and entertaining. They have the ability to custom tailor their routine according to the type of event. It's nice to see that girls can exhibit their beauty and talent without putting themselves on display like the typical biker bikini contest.
On that note, I'm headed to the Miss Hawaiian Tropic Model Search contest this afternoon. Gotta maintain the balance, you know.
