Zero, Hollywood Electrics to Contest Pikes Peak

Zero Motorcycles and Hollywood Electrics, leaders in all-electric motorcycles, announced they will partner to participate in the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on June 30, 2013, in Cascade, Colo. This is the first year the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will feature an Electric Motorcycle Division due to Hollywood Electrics and Zero Motorcycle’s efforts and support in expanding the electric motorcycle market. Hollywood Electrics will organize and manage the efforts with motorcycles and technical support from Zero Motorcycles. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest motor sports race in America and takes place on a 12.42 mile course beginning at 9,390 feet with 156 turns and ending at the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak.

Hollywood Electrics was the first to enter the new Electric Motorcycle Division with several different model Zero Motorcycles’ in the event including a number of stock and modified motorcycles. Other participants entering with Zero modified motorcycles include Aaron Frank, Editor of Motorcyclist magazine, Troy Siahaan, Associate Editor at Motorcycle.com, Ted Rich, AMA Pro Racer, as well as Jeremiah Johnson, Brandon Nozaki Miller, Jeff Clark, and Nathan Barker.
