Ryan Dungey took the win in Phoenix and also secured the overall points lead.
Madness and chaos were the name of the game in Anaheim for the opener of the 2009 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship. However, Round 2 held in Phoenix, AZ tonight returned to a more familiar format with James Stewart taking the win on his San Manuel Yamaha with Makita Suzuki’s Chad Reed in second and A1 winner, Josh Grant in third. Red Bull Honda riders Ivan Tedesco and Andrew Short rounded out the top-5.
In the 250F division, Ryan Dungey beat Justin Brayton and Ryan Morais to the finish line to claim his first race win of the season and take over the championship points battle. Jake Weimer couldn’t repeat his A1 performance, but he did land a solid fourth in front of Chris Blose.
