Chad Reed and Mike Alessi - San Francisco
It was a good night for Rockstar Makita Suzuki with Chad Reed (1) getting his first season win and Mike Alessi (800) finishing third.
Chad Reed scored his first victory of the 2009 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season with a win at the new Indianapolis venue, and drew even with James Stewart in the points chase with 199 each.
The Rockstar Makita Suzuki rider had to be both good and lucky (twice) to pick up his first season win for Roger DeCoster. Reed finally nailed a holeshot, which forced Stewart into the unfamiliar position of playing catch-up. Stewart would crash, remount and pass for the lead and then crash again to give CR the checkers. Overall it was a great night for DeCoster as another team rider landed on the podium with Mike Alessi snaring third.

JGR Yamaha’s Josh Grant continues his string of consistent finishes with a fourth and Ivan Tedesco was the top Honda rider in fifth.

Christophe Pourcel took the holeshot on the re-start, but the Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider couldn’t hold off his teammate, Austin Stroupe. The rider from North Carolina nabbed his first win of the season which gives the Mitch Payton duo a clean sweep so far.

Nico Izzi was third for Rockstar Makita Suzuki and Branden Jesseman and Wil Hahn rounded out the top-five.
