B -Yeah, but...  January 15, 2009 08:43 AM
It's true Al, you can do it that way. But Edelweiss takes care of all the extra stuff, so all riders have to do is show up and enjoy the ride. Plus you have the benefit of a friendly/interesting tour guide leading you through some of the best roads in the world. Just depends on how you want to do it.
Al -Alps tour  January 14, 2009 08:11 PM
Im sorry but Edelweiss tour prices are ridiculous unless it includes airfare. I spent 7 years in Germany and could tour the alps for a fraction of the cost. You can rent a bike at just about any MC dealer in Germany as long as you have a US drivers license and get a great weekly rate. Pickup a map at the local gas station of the alps and ride to your hearts content. Lodging is never an issue in the summer time for no matter where you are there is allways vacancies at hotels, pensions, etc.. for cheap prices. That is how I did it last year when i went to Germany and will do it again in the future. Shop smart people. I am not bashing Edelweiss but if your on a budget I suggest doing it that way. The internet is your freind.. Use it.
