Edelweiss Bike Travel is proposing a scouting tour of its own kind from the most Southern to the most Northern point of the European Continent.

There are routes and destinations that work like big magnets for motorcyclists around the world. Some are fascinating because of the twisties (the Dragon at Deals Gap, Smoky Mountains) some because of the incredible scenery (Alps) some because of the sheer impossible challenge (Dakar or Baja) and some because of the distance and the associated ego trip when one has reached the finish line (the Four Corners in the US). In Europe motorcyclists love to ride to Gibraltar at the Southern tip of Spain just across from Africa and they are equally, if not more fascinated, by going all the way to the most Northern Point of the continent, the North Cape in Norway. To link the two with a tour is certainly a challenge for both Edelweiss as well as all the riders and co-riders who finally will see the midnight sun at the North Cape. Will it be a normal Edelweiss tour? No! Will it be a motorcycle rally? No! But something in between: There will be some extreme long riding days. Each rider will have to be able to find her/his own way, when riding in her/his small group.
There will be a support vehicle in case of defects or to provide other help if needed. Yes, there will be a tour guide on a motorcycle also, but not to lead the group, rather to find some lost sheep at times.

There will be a free day to look and not ride in Barcelona, Spain, Paris, France, Copenhagen, Denmark and Trondheim, Norway. One can start in Gibraltar or join in Barcelona, Paris or Cologne.

Yes, there are ample of riding highlights along the way:
Costa del Sol, Spain, Sierra Nevada, Spain, the Pyrenees, Spain and France, the Massiv Central, France, the Ardennes Mountians, Belgium, Bergisches Land, Germany, the Fjords of Norway and the Lofoten and Vesterolen Islands of Norway.

So here is the cocktail: Hard long riding on some days, exciting riding through many attractive motorcycle regions, exposure to many European cultures, cuisins and sights, resting in and seeing Barcelona, Paris, Cologne, Copenhagen and Trondheim, and the moment of arriving at the North Cape and having that feeling:
I have had a dream and now it has come true!

There are 4 versions to choose from:
? Gibraltar – North Cape: June 23 – July 12, 2009
? Barcelona – North Cape: June 27 – July 12, 2009
? Paris – North Cape: July 1-12, 2009
? Cologne – North Cape: July 2-12, 2009

Werner Wachter, the owner and founder of Edelweiss confesses: “Yes, I have a dream and I will definitely ride all the way from Gibraltar to the North Cape. I hope to see you and ride with you on this one!”
