According to
MotoGP.com, Grupo Francisco Hernando has withdrawn with the MotoGP world championship effective immediately, leaving Spaniard
Sete Gibernau without a ride for the remainder of the ’09 season.

Sete Gibernau (pictured at the pre-season Jerez Test) will be left without a ride now that Grupo Francisco Hernando has withdrawn from the 2009 MotoGP Championship.
Gibernau had returned to racing this year after retiring in 2006. The former championship runner-up was quoted as saying that riding for the team was a “gamble” from the beginning but was still surprised to hear the news. Grupo Francisco Hernando is citing the “global economic situation” as their reason for pulling out.
It’s unknown if Gibernau will pursue another ride or go back into retirement. We’ll post more news as it becomes available. This drops the MotoGP grid to 17.
