Rizla Suzuki MotoGP is pleased to announce a new technical partnership with Italian manufacturer Marchesini, for the supply and development of forged magnesium racing wheels for its official Suzuki factory MotoGP team.

Marchesini will become the wheel of choice for the Suzuki GSV-R with immediate effect as Loris CapirossiChris Vermeulen and the Japanese factory continue to improve the 800cc prototype machine in its progress towards MotoGP success.

Marchesini will directly supply Suzuki with product especially developed for the GSV-R, with cutting-edge solutions in terms of innovation, design and performance to become the latest update to the GSV-R's overall package. Reliability, strength and safety are all guaranteed by exceptional mechanical characteristics of the magnesium alloy, and Marchesini's forged magnesium wheels provide superior performance - lighter in weight, more rigid and aerodynamically efficient than other competitors in the racing wheel market.

Style, design, speed and performance are the features that led Marchesini to achieve the leadership in the design and manufacture of light magnesium and aluminium alloy forged wheels, for racing, road and Super-motard motorcycles. Marchesini wheels have won all over the world with the greatest motorcycle champions, including Valentino Rossi, the 2008 MotoGP World Champion. Marchesini design is a real trademark; the forged magnesium wheels with the ‘Y' design, along with the new and bold seven-spoke pattern, will certainly enhance the sleek lines of the Suzuki GSV-R.

Marchesini SpA:
"We are delighted to move forward with this technical partnership and be part of the Suzuki MotoGP team's consistent rise to the front of the grid. For our continuous product development it is critical we share data and receive critical feedback from the best engineers and riders, and Suzuki will provide that for us, helping Marchesini maintain its 100% share of the grid. We have already in a short period of working together understood the added value of working with Suzuki and are confident this will bring mutual benefits in a very short time period."

Paul Denning - Team Manager:
"Suzuki is very excited to be entering into a partnership with such an innovative technical partner. Marchesini is at the forefront of motorcycle wheel technology and, as part of the Brembo Group, has the R & D and engineering resource to propose and respond to all types of technical demands. Marchesini has an amazing history in road-racing and we certainly hope that we can contribute to its list of successes in the very near future. The wheel is a very important and integral part of the package and Suzuki and Marchesini will be working very closely to develop the best product for the GSV-R."

I agree with tim b. The stock wheels on gixxers are horrible!! Please put some marchesinis on or at least as a factory option.

Now hopefully Suzuki will learn something from Marchesini so that they can put nice looking wheels on the Gixxers or possibly even offer Marchesinis as a factory option. The Gixxers are the best bikes, but they have the ugliest wheels - 3-spokes and giant holes! Same goes for the rest of the Japenese sport bikes. Learn something from Buell - OEM wheels can be strong, light, and still inexpensive enough to offer on stock bikes.
