Spanish rider Nicolas Terol was the fastest 125cc rider Friday in Indianapolis.
The boys of the 125cc racing class were the first ones to take to the track this afternoon in
Indianapolis and it was Spanish rider Nicolas Terol with the fastest time on his Jack & Jones team
Aprilia 125. Terol’s time of 1:50.603 was set in completely dry conditions towards the end of the session on Lap 21 of 22.
Next up was Italian rider Simone Corsi also riding an Aprilia 125, his backed by Fontana Racing. Corsi was a mere .111 second slower than Terol. English kid Bradley Smith was next aboard his Bancaja Aspar backed Aprilia motorcycle followed by Sandro Cortese riding a Derbi machine.
"So far my Aprilia is working really well," said Smith. "I'm happy with how things have gone on this opening day and I think we can be satisfied with the job done. Unfortunately we had to stop early because of the weather but I was able to enjoy myself when we were out on track."
Marc Marquez was the top
KTM finisher and the last rider to break into the 1:50 range. American rider Cameron Beaubier finished 27th fastest, nearly 4-seconds off the front runners pace. Fellow American Miles Thornton finished 31st while his teammate Veloce Racing teammate Ben Young failed to qualify.
